Cosmetics So Natural You Can Eat Them: Innovative Botanicals for Cosmeceuticals and Nutricosmetics
This session will discuss the hottest developments and trends in
natural products for cosmeceuticals and nutricosmetics markets.
Applications for cellulite reduction, anti-aging, collagen promotion,
anti-stress, ultraviolet (UV) and DNA protection, wrinkle reduction, as
well as cellular energy and probiotics will be covered. Ingredients to
be discussed include dihydromyricetin, rosemary extract, ursolic acid,
Rhodiola rosea, probiotics and CoQ10/Ubiquinone QH. The latest published
research on GliSODin®, a melon extract with proven benefits protecting
skin and cellular DNA, will be presented.
Speakers:
Paul Flowerman is the president
and CEO of P.L. Thomas Inc. He joined PLT in 1976 after completing his
studies at Princeton and Harvard. He also has a master’s of business
administration in marketing and international business from New York
University. Prior to joining PLT, Flowerman devoted three years
teaching chemistry, physics, and mathematics in the pueblos jovenes
surrounding Arequipa, Peru, and, through the Peace Corps, was a physics
and mathematics instructor in several Malaysian high schools. His
varied academic interests, language study and use, and time spent in
developing countries has had a strong influence on his approach to
ingredient sourcing and overall business activity. Flowerman currently
leads the team at PLT to help fulfill its business mission in
ever-changing and challenging times.
