Superba™ – A Rich Source of Omega-3 Phospholipid
Superba™ Krill Oil is 100 percent pure krill oil harvested by Aker
BioMarine in the clean waters of the Antarctic. The patent protected
harvesting system secures sustainable harvesting and superior treatment
of the fragile bioactive components in Antarctic krill. The multi-step
“onboard and offshore” extraction process gives Superba high levels of
omega-3 phospholipids and the naturally occurring antioxidant
astaxanthin. Krill oil with its high levels of omega-3 phospholipids is
claimed by some to be the next generation omega-3 with possible benefits
outweighing traditional omega-3 products with regards to bioefficacy,
stability, purity, and other product attributes. Superba is safe in
humans, and its relative uptake of EPA and DHA from the human GI tract
to the blood stream differs from other omega-3 fish oils, according to
findings. Aker BioMarine is in the process of investigating the effects
of Superba and will present some of these findings in relation to
established omega-3 products at the presentation.
